.heic?

Hello--can someone please tell me why apple pictures from the phone are always exported as .heic when that's not a file that ANY other program seems to recognize? It's really a pain to have to export every time to a jpg. This drives me nuts and is a waste of time and energy. Anyone have any thoughts or tricks here? Thank you!

Hello Shenandoah0513,

Your photos are exported in their original format. To change the format that your iPhone camera uses, you can go to Settings > Camera > Formats. Using another method of sharing the photos that you've taken might help as well. For example, when sharing using AirDrop, Messages or email, photos may automatically be shared in a compatible format with the receiving device.
