How to add a shortcut in Numbers for Strikethru?

What were the instructions that did not work? Making a shortcut should be the same for any command available in the menu system.

System Preferences

Keyboard

Shortcuts

App Shortcuts

Application is Numbers

Make sure you type the menu item exactly as it appears in the menu (caps, spaces, punctuation, everything)

Give it a key combination

Add

Go to the menu item and see your shortcut is there

Use it

There was at least one instance where a shortcut would not work consistently. It was for adding the date to a cell. That was a good long while ago.

Sometimes there can be a problem if you try to assign a shortcut that is already "taken," creating a conflict. You might experiment with different key combinations to see if they work.
