M1 MacBook Air: OS Monterey Lightning port not functioning.... LG 5 K ultra wide curved 38 WN 95C

My ext display has stopped working at first there were flicker issues. I was using a Thunderbolt 3 cable and tested another thunderbolt cable I have this time nothing completely black the display seems to recognize that there is a thunderbolt connection but it just goes black and eventually turns the backlight off then eventually will "recognize the connection again" then go black again. My Ipad works fine with both cables then just to be sure I bought a lightning 4 cable and tested this again same result works with iPad does not work with M1 mac book. Online there seems to be a good amount of people with similar problems but there is no resolution. Is Apple aware of this?
