How do i change the default screenshot format?

Hello!

Does anyone know how i can change the format my screenshots are in? I

followed a guide that told me to write this code in the terminal:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture type JPG;killall SystemUIServer

but it isn't working. I'm stuck on jpeg. (I'm using it in Danish, if that changes anything)

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.2

Maybe you meant to write something else.

Your command is supposed to change the screenshot format to jpeg....

and then you say you are "stuck" with jpeg????

FWIW, both file extensions .jpg and .jpeg are commonly used for JPEG files.

If you want something else, replace jpg with png or pdf.

Hmmm... The default is png, but you can replace this with jpg, pdf, tiff, etc.

No reason your command line as written above in your example wouldn't work to change the format to your "JPG"

I see no issue there.

To change the format of the screenshot, to png copy & paste the following into Terminal:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture type png && killall SystemUIServer

Maybe the Danish is different...(?)
