mbna credit card declined on Apple Pay uk

As the title suggests. Really don’t understand why it is being declined, any ideas from UK community gratefully received!

Apple Pay on Mac - now compulsory?? I'd prepared a booking on the Travelodge site and to pay by bank card. A message appeared on screen: "Add cards to Apple Pay to make purchases on this Mac" Now that's a first. I don't have (and don't want) anything to do with Apple Pay. It was meant to be a simple payment by bank debit card to Travelodge on the Travelodge website. That's all. I found there was no way round this - other than to select pay by Paypal, which I did. This has never happened before. Can anyone comment on this? Surely Apple is not now forcing us to make purchases for anything online (using a Mac) through Apple Pay??

One of my payment accounts got declined I just bought an macbook pro but my payment declined on one of my accounts. However it said that I got approved for an apple card with limit of $1200 how can I use the card and pay the balance on another card? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

It does if the card is accepted everywhere else but not via Apple Pay. All sorted now. Thanks for your ‘helpful’ reply
