Adding a tempered glass screen protector/filter will slightly reduce contrast - and will almost certainly increase glare. The anti-reflection coatings of your iPad are only effective is an additional optical layer is not placed over the screen.

Of the many third-party screen protectors that are available, Zagg and OtterBox are perhaps two of the better brands to consider. Zagg do offer blue-light filters in their product portfolio.

Thank you for the reply. What about a non tempered glass filter but rather one that claims it protects a decent amount of blue light but is a film of sorts that has a slightly matt finish? I have been using an iPad Pro 9.7 for a few years and have run out of storage space to the point I can only use messages, safari and mail. So I just ordered a baseline new iPad Gen. 9 with 256GB, with the old fashioned reflective screen, for budget reasons. It hasn’t arrived yet but I am worried that the mirror-like reflection will bother me when watching movies….which I mostly do at night. SO…I was thinking I should protect my eyes from blue light overdose and wondered if at the same time I could reduce some of the glare on the screen. Obviously, like you said, more layers of glass won’t help with that issue.
