Data files/folders greyed out

After restoring my new Mac Pro from my time machine (La Cie external hardrive), I can see all of my file folders, but they are greyed out. They only become accessible if I keep my hard drive connected. How do I permanently move my files?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 12.2
