I think you found a solution to a non-existent issue. Tell us what you are trying to accomplish in the end. Provide details and context. Why are you trying to create a DMG file?

I don't know, but if you are using Windows, be aware that most Windows users will not be able to use a dmg file, anyway.

If you plan to cater to both Mac and Windows users, it's almost certainly better to use iso disk images, that both systems can handle.

What are you trying to do with a disk image? What files are you planning to put on it?

Where have you seen this done before? And how long ago using what Mac OS version?

I was a Windows power user, regrettably still am I guess, going back to the MSDOS days and dBase III Plus and I have never heard of this and don't think I would have ever needed it.

And it has to be done on a windows pc? Most people on the pc side have probably never heard of dmg. Maybe there is some application that can create those, but since I don't use a pc I couldn't say.
