Magic keyboard

I have the Apple extended Magic Keyboard with the numbers pad on the right. It’s been working fine for the five months that I’ve had it. Suddenly the numbers stopped working inside of the apps I need for work. I’ve tried every thing I can think of. It’s not the enable mouse keys. I’ve called Apple and they can’t figure it out either. I cannot turn the numbers on. When I hit the clear or shift + clear I get a ? In that space. And it does not enable numbers to be typed from the keypad. The numbers at top of keyboard work but that isn’t feasible for work for me hence the reason I bought THIS keyboard. HELP!
