I am considering a different camera as I am winding down after many years in the business. Currently using a Pony DVX-200. I love the fact that it records in the .mov format and Sony does not. How big of a hassle is it to import media files from Sony cameras?

As Tom says, depends on the specific camera. We drag our Sony FX6 MXF footage into an event and it's quick and works great. Doing it this way does not copy/rewrap the footage into the library like it does when using the Import dialog.
I use a Sony A7sIII and have not had any problems importing the various iterations of the XAVC codec. IIRC the Sony cinema cameras use the same codec.
No easy answer. Generally it’s not a problem, but all the cameras are different, and all shoot multiple formats.
Not thinking about HDR?
