Does damaging the speaker grill affect the waterproofing?

I was recently cleaning out the holes for the speakers on my Apple Watch Series 4 with a small toothpick. While I was cleaning it, I accidentally pushed up the speaker grill mesh on the left side of the left speaker. I only notice it when I get right up close, and it doesn’t seem to affect the sound at all, so I’m inclined to just leave it. However, I’m worried that the watch is no longer water resistant. Are the speaker grills designed to keep most of the water out, or is there another piece further in that is responsible for the water resistance? Thanks!
