Can an iPhone be brute forced? Should I be worried?

Hello,

Lately I see more and more people talking about brute forcing iPhones and this makes me worry. Is there anything that I can do in order to protect my iPhone from being brute forced? Should I be worried about leaving my iPhone unattended?

Thanks!

iPhone XS Max, iOS 15

It cannot be brute forced. After 10 erroneous passcode attempts the iPhone will disable itself and prevent any more passcode attempts. And the time between wrong passcode attempts between 3 and 10 will increase every every time a wrong passcode is entered. Making it exceedingly hard to continue to brute force it.

As long as you have a strong passcode for it, 6 digits or alphanumeric is recommended, then no, there's nothing to worry about really.
