liquid detected iphone 12 pro max after software update

After I did software update my phone doesn't recognize non apple brand lightning chargers. I haven't got my phone wet. the phone does one of two things:

1) provides liquid detected message and won't charge

2) doesn't recognize until i unplug at usb end from power block and replug back in. then it will charge.

No problem charging with Apple brand chargers. This seems like a scam for brand security.

Anyone else with this issue?

If you have a cable that is Made for iPhone certified (there are over 200 companies that participate in the MFi program) then contact the company that made the cable. If it is not it may well no longer work correctly as there are chipsets in the cable that are sometimes updated, if you have an MFi certified cable they use the proper codes and are correctly updated, if they are not they were using stolen codes in the first place and won't update properly.
