Hello I am an iPod 7th gen user I love my iPod its a basic need for my music and workout. I was wondering because the iPod is getting discontinued will it be receiving iOS updates. Thank you I hope I can get a response soon to prepare my final goodbyes to my iPod.

As of today, I cannot update the iPod touch from my iMac. Is says:
There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod “iPod touch 7th”. There is not enough memory available.
that is crazy, i have tons of memory and the ipod has 111Gb free.
I cannot update or restore at all. Anyone? Thanks
I am also saddened to see the iPod Touch going away. This device was perfect for music at the gym, walking, running, etc. Light weight, & smaller that the iPhone. There are times that I just want music. I sure hope Apple comes up with a device that is for music and doesn't feel like I have an anchor in my pocket.
You can load music onto the Watch and listen without the iPhone being anywhere nearby. Admittedly, it's still not an iPod Touch, more like a Nano. But, if what you need is to be able to listen to some music while you're taking a run or working in the yard, and you already have a Watch or were considering getting one, it's something to think about.
And yes, I was being a bit sarcastic. My larger point is that it seems unlikely that the iPod will rise from the ashes. Sales have been on the decline for years.

also Try updating directly on the iPod (Settings>General>Software Update)

I thought there was a distance limit between the watch & the iPhone?
