Time machine suddenly failing regularly
Time Machine is suddenly acting very strangely. I began getting Error 92 messages about a week ago and went through the process of de-selecting the external drive and re-selecting it, etc. Nothing worked. Running Disk Utility on the drive showed that it was a drive problem, so I replaced the drive with a new WD My Passport drive. It worked fine for about 48 hours. Now it's suddenly not working, and none of the suggested fixes work. I keep getting the message that "The backup drive is not in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format" which is ridiculous. (Disk Utility confirms that the drive is fine and formatted correctly.)
Unplugging and re-connecting the drive makes everything work again, once or twice, then the "failed" message happens again. Any thoughts? Or am I simply doomed to manually backing up from now on?
