When the playhead reaches the end of my movie in the timeline, it jumps back to start playing at the beginning. I want it to stop at the end, because I am working on the end of the video. Is there a way to do that?

The playback is looping because you have Loop Playback selected in the View menu.
Uncheck Loop Playback in the view menu and that should stop the playhead from jumping back to the beginning of the movie.
