Payment terminal is in a different language when paying with Apple Pay

If I use my iPhone XS to pay in stores the terminal will make the language go into French, my iPhone is set to English, I pay in Dutch stores. I however don’t speak French so I can’t tell why it declines if it does. Anyone know a fix for this?

Apple Pay Language Setting I have been noticing that whenever I use Apple Pay at any POS terminal (tapping either with my Apple Watch or iPhone), the POS terminal language switches to French. Apple Pay doesn't work when OSX language is not English Hello Apple Community! I've added my bank cards into Wallet on my MacBook Pro and set up Apple Pay so it works perfectly. But it works only when preferred system language is English (US). When I change it to Russian or Ukrainian every payment i try on websites that have "Pay with Apple Pay" button fails (payment confirmation dialog pops up, does some processing for a while and then before asking me to put finger on a scanner it shows red mark and disappears). When I switch language back to English (US) same payment on same website works perfectly. Any ideas how to fix it?

When I use my watch to pay the payment terminal reads in French. My watch and phone are set to English.
