Can't free up space

I have 99gb of photos on my mac. I deleted all local files and turned off iCloud (so all my pics are in iCloud but not on my mac at all). I even permanently deleted them from the "recently deleted" folder. My mac still has 99gb of photos, even tho my folder is completely empty. I checked ALL files and couldn't find ANYTHING that takes 99gb or more. How on earth do I free that space? I also tried restarting the mac.

MacBook Air (2020 or later)

Start by this method from Apple >> Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac

This may take some time to re-index the entire drive.

Then once hat is done - check again for space.

Still issues >>

Other / System Data: Contains files that don’t fall into the categories listed here. This category primarily includes files and data used by the system, such as log files, caches, VM files, and other runtime system resources. Also included are temporary files, fonts, app support files, and plug-ins. You can't manage the contents of this category. The contents are managed by macOS, and the category varies in size depending on the current state of your Mac.
