Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I had folder of sound effects located in /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Final Cut Pro Sound Effects/(folder)
Everything worked fine, until I update FCPX to version 10.6.2
Now sound effects are missing(only WAV files) and mp3 files appear, I tried reinstalling FCPX, deleting all the preferences, nothing helps.
However i dont want to convert them. It will lose quality.
Any ideas?
MacOS version: 12.4
FCPX: 10.6.2
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020)
It's a bug in 10.6.2. Join the chorus to report it to Apple so hopefully it gets fixed quickly. Final Cut Pro->Provide Final Cut Pro Feedback... or Feedback - Final Cut Pro - Apple
In the meantime, you can create an SFX event in your library (or create an SFX library) and import the folder into it (with your import settings set to Leave in Place so they're not copied) and you can at least access them. Not ideal but hopefully a workaround until it's fixed.

HsiaAlex - Just wanted to let you know in case you hadn't already seen it that FCP 10.6.3 was released today and it fixes the issue with the SFX library. Don't forget to click the popup at the top right of the browser to show you the categories. Ask me how I know... ;)
Converting audio to a format like WAV will not lose quality.
