Recently added playlist on my iPhone

Can someone please help me with the recently added playlist on my iPhone? The playlist doesn’t seem to add songs by date. They are all just scattered across the playlist. I want them organized by date if possible. Also noticed when you go into the recently added playlist, and you click edit, it doesn’t do anything. If anybody can help thanks.
