Video glitch - external webcam

hey guys

No matter what external webcam I use eg elgato facecam or other, I tend to see the followoing in my videos:

The elgato is usb-c to usb-a with an apple usb-a to usb-c adapater attached (elgator said this could have been the issue)

I have dropped the frame rate down as I thought maybe zoom, quicktime etc could not process the data correctly.

Any ideas what might be the issue

specs of mbp are

Thanks

Greetings Richiebcn,

You’ve mentioned that this is happening with external webcams. Does that mean the built-in webcam is not showing this same behavior?

Certainly an adapter can cause an issue, are you able to test another webcam that connects without an adapter? We know that might be a long shot.

A couple other things to do, if you haven’t already -

How to reset the SMC of your Mac

Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

Thanks.
