No sound on Quicktime Video player

Hi,

I am using a MacBook Air 2019 and I'm using a USB drive to store home workout vids and when I open the video with Quicktime Player there is no sound playing on the video. I don't think the issue is with Quicktime, because I downloaded VLC and the same thing happened.

Thanks

MacBook Air

Hey penn177,

If the sound works on your Mac otherwise, and those videos have no sound in apps you try to play them in, there's likely an issue with the files. Have you tried moving one to your Mac to see if the sound plays as expected? If it doesn't, we recommend deleting and obtaining the file again to see if that helps.

Just in case, here's a guide on changing your sound settings: Change the sound output settings on Mac
