Iphone XS unresponsive screen - unable to solve

So basically my new XS has an unresponsive screen and I have tried all things to solve it, hard reset etc but I can't get it unlocked. When I hook it up to iTunes on my mac it says unlock to use this accessory so I can't update the software.

I am at a bit of a loss of what to do next, I am not keen really on sending my phone back with all my data on it without clearing the phone.

Any help would be appreciated
