Using HomeKit and Siri on Midea AC units

Question: Is there any way to control/add a Media smart AC with Siri and Home app?

The AC has its own iOS app but is otherwise Alexa and Google. Perhaps using Shortcuts in some way to control the app via Siri?

Answer: The latest Midea Air app allows you to create a Shortcut to control the AC units. This allows voice control by Siri of Midea AC units that use the Midea Air app. It is not mentioned anywhere by Midea so, you just have to own one and then poke around the app.

I did and I added a second AC unit and also duplicated the Shortcut in Shortcuts and made it so I can turn off the units by voice too.

Hopefully Midea updates these popular window AC units to also work with HomeKit. I would set up a geofencing automation to turn the AC units on when I arrive and lower temp if I leave.

So it is the 8,000 BTU U-shaped Air Conditioner I am using the iOS Midea Air app with.)
