I need a two-factor authorization code for my daughter's iPhone in order to erase it and turn off "Find My Iphone" because her phone broke and I'm trying to put in a claim. But I can't see her screen - it's broken

Did you go to the full URL, https://https://icloud/find, and not just https://icloud? If you append the /find it will not prompt for 2FA.
Every time I try to do that, it send a verification code to her phone which won’t turn on
