imessage blocking

Okay so I’ve recently just blocked someone on iMessage and they are still able to send me texts even tho when I go in my settings and look at my block list they are one of the numbers underneath it as well as when I click on their contact name it says unblock this caller ! Can someone please answer why this is happening, this is a new iPhone 13 so there shouldn’t be any problems with it .
