MacBook can send airdrop but not receive from any device.

Airdrop can be finicky —sometimes it works sometimes is does not, for no rhyme or reason . Try on a different day and compare your results.

Verify both macOS and iOS are current and up to date.

If you are running an old OS version on an older machine, then the ability to use Airdrop can be haphazard or spotty. Before I bought a newer iMac, I was never able to send anything to my older device no matter what I tried even though - technically - it was supposed to be compatible. I would simply give up.

Ahh, I went by your profile which lists OS 10.15. If it's new, then I don't know; my devices all work, so you may want to contact Apple support and let them deal with it.
