my maps on my iPhone only seems to work on wifi I have made sure that it’s turned on for mobile data tried resetting network settings, restarting my device, turning on and off location services and all that jazz . Like all it shows is this. Any tips

Can other apps use cellular data?
Deleting the app and reinstalling it would be the next step.
I just tested Google Maps on my iPhone without Wi-Fi enabled, and have been asked to enable the Compassions Calibration for better results in locating your device:
Settings/Privacy/Location Services/System Services/Compass Calibration
These are my settings for Google Maps:
Settings/Location Services/Google Maps/Allow Location Access/->Always
+ Precise Location-> On
The location gets more precise if your iPhone is moving outside and can be triangulated by the cellular towers around you.
Did you also make sure that Data Roaming is enabled in the settings for cellular data?

see I have the iPhone 8 Plus which I believe it doesn’t support LTE or even 5G I have tried 3G but nothing it’s running iOS 15.5
