I'm using the space button to play the video, but now it's not working, when I click the space button it's just showing the details of the video rather than playing it. Can anybody tell me a solution to play a video by clicking space bar?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Which app are you viewing videos in when this occurs? The Space bar functionality can vary depending on the app you use. Test in another app to see if the same continues. For example, in the Music app, the Space bar should function as you mentioned - Keyboard shortcuts in Music on Mac - Apple Support.

If you are using the Music app or if this continues there, try starting in safe mode to see what happens there. Safe mode prevents some apps and software from loading so can help isolate issues such as this. Check out How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support.
