Microsoft VS Numbers

How do I make excel and Word my defaults on my new MAC?



iMac 24″, macOS 12.1

For MS Excel:


In finder:

Select a file with the .xlsx extension.

Press command - I to Get Info.


In the Info window that opens:


Click on the Open With notice to menu of eligible applications.

Choose MS Excel.


Click the Change All button to assign this application as the default app to open all files with this extension.


Repeat with a file whose name has the .docx extension, using MS Word as the selected default application.


If needed, repeat with .xls and .doc extensions.
