After updating ios to version 15.5, the camera app was weird, some distortions are occurring, the focus takes a while..... my iphone is the 13 pro max. Anyone else with this problem? I tested the camera through whatsapp and it's ok, it's only through the native
One Camera app issue I’ve noticed on the 13 Pro Max while video recording is that recording will freeze, the time counter will continue countin up for a few seconds, then recording will stop. Seems like it does this if tries to do brightness correction.
the issue persisted after a factory reset, and before restoring my phone backup.

Same thing happened with my iPhone 13 pro max and iPad. After the update my camera got so buggy. When the object or the camera is moving during video recording, it got so blurry as if you were drunk lmao
I have front facing camera issues too. Now most of the time I get a blank screen. Multiple hard restarts will get it working—temporarily.
it’s also slow to focus and set the aperture.
This started with IOS 15.5. I have an iPhone 8.
Still facing the same issue. 0.5x HD 60 camera would freeze all the time. Its so annoying! But now I use 4k @ 60fps and at 0.5x zoom it works well but the file size is huge around 5gb for a 5min video and now the problem is transferring it to the laptop because of the lightning port takes around 20 mins to transfer a 5gb video. Unlike USB-C which transfers in less than a minute. iPhones are evolving backwards now! Its so 2016!
My camera is AWFUL! Brand new 13 Pro Max unboxed on apple store and set up right there on June 13, 2022. Running 15.5(they updated software right there at Apple after unboxing which is weird to me btw bc Manuf date was end of May 2022 and shipped to store about a week before I purchased. Wouldn’t software already have been 15.5 since it was release some time before phone was manufactured?) Sorry for the digression.
Anyways, not refurbished and did not restore from backup. Camera now almost won’t focus at all in video no matter what resolution or format I choose. Photos are often poor quality and/or distorted. Live text works on some photos and not others(could be identical type of pic/text.
It’s not a hardware issue bc Apple support has run not 1 but 2 diagnostics and zero hardware issues found. I’ve hard reset etc all to no avail.
The larger file size I need to look into. Wondering if that could be the reason my photos and videos are loading onto my cloud during the day. Let me k ow if anyone finds a solution!
I also feel the same on the iPhone 13 pro. And as I recall, On iPhone 11pm, and iPhone 13 also experienced this since ios 15.5
I find it very frustrating because this is the main device I use to create content and prioritizes the ultrawide lens.
There seems to be no sign from apple to fix it
Thanks for the help, but the link below didn't work. The problem apparently started to occur after the update... It's not a hardware problem, the camera blurs pretty fast...
my phone is, i phone 7plus , it protrait mode is not working in some time after i will update to it ios 15.5. i think this update have some camera bugs.. Help for me.

Have exactly the same issue. Cam doesnt work in 15.5, like too often. But works really well with Whatsapp. What should I do? I am an avid traveller and highly bank on my SE2 cam.

No. Even after a factory reset, the problem still exists. It’s a bug.
Since it is not possible to edit a post, I want to correct an error. The problem is with the back facing camera.
