Erased hard drive

I have erased everything on my hard drive, all I get is a flashing question mark, how do I reload an operating system? Macbook A1534

Only Macs from 2012 or older (that do NOT have USB-C porte either) can NOT start up while holding:


Option, Command, and R keys held down at startup.


You hold them down until you get a unique picture, such as a spinning globe or a Utilities screen.


The code to support this function is in the computer's ROM, and can not be erased.
