ringer button

Hello,

A few days ago, my ringer button stopped working. I keep pushing back and forth but it still stays on silent. What can I do?

I think the only way to do it is using Assistive Touch..

What this will do is put a small white dot on your screen (you can drag it around if/when it gets in the way), you tap on it and get a menu pop up. This dot will overlay everything.

You'd go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch, turn on the toggle switch. Then go into Customize Top Level Menu..

From here you will have options.. You can play with multiple icons and other functions.. I'll just give you the baseline idea..

Tap the minus sign until you have a single icon, tap on that single icon, select 'Device' from the list, select Done.

Go back to your Home Screen, tap/hold & drag the dot where you think it'll be the least intrusive..

Now tap on the dot and then tap on 'Device' in the menu that opens. The menu will update with further device related options.. here you can select Mute/Unmute and that should toggle silent mode for you.. mimicking the functionality of the physical switch.

If this is too cumbersome, then you'd likely need to get your iPhone repaired.
