There is no "Link Keyboard and Mouse" option under add display on my macbook which is version 12.4.
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.4
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.4
This requires a compatible mac and ipad, and that the OS versions match.
So: is your mac running 12.4? Is your iPad running iPadOS 15.5?
Are they recent enough to support this feature? See the compatibility list:

He meant "Universal Control…"
After clicking the Universal Display appearing in your above image
Do you see the “Universal Control” button as in the screenshot that P. Phillips posted? Can you confirm that the tewo boxes are checked as in that screenshot?
Hi, I have this issue too and this is the only thread which seems related but I don't understand your point.
What is "Universal Display". I don't see anything either for linking the keyboard and mouse.
I don’t really have a fix for this but perhaps it may be of help. I had this issue on 12.3 and ugrading to 12.4 fixed it for me. I imagine this may be an issue with caches of pherahps settings corruption. I was looking for a way to reset the sidecar subsystem but I couldn’t find one.
Did anybody try running Onyx?
Thanks Luis.
Today I've tried my brand new M1 iPad Pro 12.9", iOs 15.5
Everything is fresh installed yesterday, macMini M1 macOS 12.4.
So I have two iPad pro, first-generation and M1.
None of them show up in my nonexistent Keyboard and Mouse option. Just 'Mirror or Extend to'..
I'm out of ideas. 😐
Everything is there.
And this is now crazy. The M1 iPad didn't show up yesterday.
I just unlocked it "again!" and it finally shows up automatically on Displays and the option Link Keyboard and Mouse, was automatically selected.
Perhaps was the amount of coffee I drank this morning?
Well, it's working now. Thanks a lot for your kindness 🤗
😀 thank you covering my . . . on that one 😇
This question is showing up as "Answered", but where is the answer?
I can't find anything related to this anywhere. The Link Keyboard and Mouse options is never there, no matter what I try.
Cheers!
Yes both on those versions. An M1 MacBook air and iPad air 5, so yes, both after supported
