iPad continuous reboot, then cannot be restored

iPad started rebooting every once in a while, has now gone into continuous reboot, shows apple logo, goes black, shows apple logo, etc. Plugged into computer, opened iTunes, said it was extracting update and software then get the following error, "The iPad could not be restored, Unknown Error occurred (9)"
