Siri Remote (2nd gen) keeps clicking on its own

I have the latest Siri Remote. As I navigate to different apps or channels in those streaming apps, the ring randomly acts like it's stuck or being constantly pressed even though I am not touching it.

For example, on the YouTube app, to scroll right to pick a video, it will start fast scrolling on its own to the right. I click the main button or the left side of the ring to get it to stop but it doesn't always work. It's like I cannot get control of the remote. Other times it won't turn on the TV, or if I change the volume it keeps turning the sound up after I let go of the button.

This is the 2nd remote I have had that does this.

I have made sure it is charged, too.

Does it need to be cleaned? Is it susceptible to misbehaving because of too much use?

My AppleTV is fully updated. I tried restarting it, too.

Is anyone else experiencing this?
