Apple Emails to Comcast recipients get a 554 5.1.0 spam block

Whether I send one or fifty emails at a time, addressed to Comcast recipients, I sometimes get an error e-reply from Mail Delivery System titled "Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender."

Here's how the error message begins:

"This is a system-generated message to inform you that your email could not

be delivered to one or more recipients. Details of the email and the error are as follows:

<____________@comcast.net>: host mx2h1.comcast.net[96.102.157.179] said: 554

5.1.0 __.__.___.___ Comcast block for spam. (in reply to MAIL FROM command)"

I've tried numerous times to reach a technician at Xfinity (800-934-6489) but cannot because I'm not already a subscriber or Comcast account holder.

Comcast's support website (https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/fix-a-554-error) provides this information:

"Comcast is not blocking your email server's IP address. If you’ve received this message, simply contact your email administrator and have your Reverse DNS configured properly."

How am I able to learn how to properly configure my Reverse DNS on Apple Mail when I'm not already a Comcast/Xfinity customer? My call to Apple support suggested that I contact Xfinity, however, I cannot connect with anyone unless I'm already a subscriber or accoubnt holder.

Does Apple yet have the requisite fix that prevent its emails that get sent to Comcast recipients from mistakenly getting blocked as spam by Comcast?

Are you sending in bulk ("fifty emails at a time"), possibly using bcc? If multiple recipients, when you send something in bulk, report back to Comcast that it is spam, you might end up on a spam block list. Also, large bcc recipient lists may also be interpreted (rightly or wrongly) as spam by email providers.

Most email servers will not send bulk email. The limit may be as low as 5 addresses in a single email. Who is your email provider. They are the only one who can change their limit. I doubt Comcast or any of the major email providers will change their spam fighting limits. To send bulk email, you need to use a bulk email service. Or, use an email provider who are not concerned with fighting spam.

Thank you, Steve!

Yes, my recent post was addressed to 126 recipients in the BCC field.

Assuming that that's what triggered the 554 5.1.0 bouncebacks, might you have a tried-and-true recommendation on how I can send e-broadcasts to that many recipients? Hope so.

Thanks, again!

Warren

You might contact Comcast Support and ask them to permit this if you explain what you are doing.

Otherwise, what BobThe Fisherman suggests might be the approach you need to take.

Thanks again, Steve. And thank you, Bob.

I'd prefer to use Apple Mail over a third-party email service.

My new related problem is this: My e-address now appears to have been added to Comcast's spam list. ( ; - ( I sent the same e-message to [only] three of the Comcast recipients, then received an "undelivered mail returned" message.

I've spent the past 14 minutes attempting to connect with a Comcast/Xfinity live person but that's not possible since I'm not already a Comcast subscriber or account holder. The phone menu options require having a subscription or an account with Comcast. I tried these two Comcast numbers and got blocked on each attempt: 800-934-6489 and 888-565-4329.

I MUST get my e-address OFF Comcast's spam list to email numerous Comcast recipients. But I cannot connect with a live wire at Comcast/Xfinity.

Minutes ago, I spoke with Apple Support but was told that Apple has no ability to rectify this problem.

I need to rectify this problem but don't know how to present it to Comcast/Xfinity.

Help wanted,

Warren
