Hi,

With iTunes Match, you no longer have to manually sync your content from your Mac to your other devices. This is due to iTunes Match using iCloud Music Library/Sync Library to match all of your content to content offered on the iTS.

Once matched, enable Sync Library on all devices signed in with the same Apple ID. From there, your content will appear on all devices in the Music app, automatically.

Quick Facts about iTunes Match

  • Only Apple devices are compatible with iTunes Match
  • If you subscribe to Apple Music, the Apple Music Voice subscription works with content downloaded from the Apple Music catalog, as well as your content downloaded with iTunes Match
  • If the original song file is deleted from the Mac you subscribed to iTunes Match on, the content may be unable to remain matched, and delete from all devices. In other words, you must keep the original song file stored locally on your Mac in order for your devices to continue to have access to the content, regardless if it has already been downloaded on your devices with Sync Library
  • If your Mac disconnects from the internet during the upload process, iTunes Match will automatically resume where it left off the next time you launch the Music app on your Mac
  • Once your music library is uploaded, you’ll see the Download button next to songs that are available with Sync Library. If you don’t see the Download button, then the song is already in your local (regular) music library
  • If unable to match certain content, it will appear in iCML/Sync Library saved under “unknown artist/album” . You can edit this, as well as add album artwork for the content, to your preference
  • iTunes Match has a 100,000 song limit associated to the service. Purchased content does not count towards this limit
  • iTunes Match is not compatible with Family Sharing
  • Files sizes larger than 200mb will not be uploaded or matched with iTunes Match
  • iTunes Match is a service associated to your Apple ID. If you change your country/region, you will not be able to access your content with iTunes Match. You must resubscribe once your country/region has been changed, and if iTunes Match is available in that country/region
  • If you have issues with playback quality, incorrectly matched content, or missing content, this can typically be resolved by erasing the currently matched track or album and reuploading the original file
