"Protect mail activity" feature causes some mails in ipad mail app to never load
Hi,
Just been on with support trying to diagnose this issue and I found that the privacy protection feature known as "Protect Mail activity" being enabled causes some emails to not load (loading spinner goes on indefinitely).
Emails work with this setting disabled AND "Hide IP Address" Disabled.
"Block all remote content" does not impact things, emails load with this on or off, as long as "Hide IP Address" is disabled.
My thoughts behind why this is are that likely the protection being offered comes in the form of apple loading the content in-house and then serving it to my device...
so perhaps senders are getting wise and blocking apple from doing this, or some kind of built-in CDN protection is causing the content to be refused to Apple.
Now I know if that's what's happening it's no fault of Apple's - privacy, like ad-blocking is an arms-race... but we could do with a "just load the content locally, I don't care" option in the app, to allow for these situations where it's a worthwhile trade-off.
In the meantime I'm happy with the workaround of just using "block all remote content", or using another device... but please give the above some thought since the less technically savvy will likely get extremely frustrated by this appearing to happen for no reason. (I certainly had a bit of a strop earlier...)
