I have a MacBook Pro running Mohave 10.14.6. Over the past two months, email has been abruptly disconnected with a box asking if I choose to Ignore or Report the problem to Apple. I have been sending a Report to Apple for months without response. Can you tell me what is causing this and how to resolve the issue?

Is this using a browser to access mail..?
A third party mail client..?
or is this using the the built in Mail.app..?
If Mail.app— you can try launch the app holding the Shift key down and compare your results.
no change you can try a Safeboot and compare your results—
SafeBoot How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support
Takes a bit longer to get to the login screen, does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc.
Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
In Safe mode third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled, it removes malware, etc hampering smooth operation, however a reboot will put it back to normal mode.
This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.
no insight or resolve—
For problem accounts the go to way to sort things out is to delete the account, then add it back.
