I got a Email saying I can’t receive or send any emails due to my iCloud being full?

Cant I y’all just not let emails go to iCloud and just let me receive and send emails?

Icloud I recently got an email from apple saying I can no longer receive emails due to my lack of iCloud storage. I then brought 200GB of iCloud storage but am still unable to receive any of my emails, due to being a student my emails are important and it is very inconvenient that I can not access this. Please can you reply with so additional information to help me out. Thankyou Ellie

If your icloud account is full you will not be able to send/receive emails using that account.
