Universal Control not available

Have this problem with iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021) trying Universal Control. No option to link keyboard and mouse. Cannot push through. Does not find other devices.

I have a 2019 Intel MacBook Pro, iPad Pro and iPad Air and Universal Control works across those three so I know setup is right.

iMac 24″, macOS 12.4

Hey texasfatboy71,

We'd be happy to help out. While we see you mentioned that you felt the setup is right, we'd suggest double-checking things using the steps in the resource below:

Universal Control: Use a single keyboard and mouse between Mac and iPad - Apple Support

"Turn on Universal Control

Before continuing, make sure that each device meets the Universal Control system requirements, including that each is signed in with the same Apple ID, and Universal Control is turned on.

On your Mac

  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Displays.
  2. Click the Universal Control button at the bottom of the preferences window.
  3. Select “Allow your pointer and keyboard to move between any nearby Mac or iPad.” Leave the other two settings selected for now.

Universal Control settings in Displays preferences

On your iPad

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap General, then tap AirPlay & Handoff.
  3. Turn on Cursor and Keyboard."

We hope this information helps out.

Take care!
