Accessing files on another apple

I have bought second home and use a MacBook. My saved files are on my IMAC at first home. How do I access files on my IMAC? Do I have remote access or do I have to move all my files on my IMAC to iCloud to access them from second home (MacBook)?

Syncing the files to iCloud would be the easiest way since both computers aren't on the same network.
