Update 15.5 fails repeatedly on two different devices. Both iPhone 11's. Reason for failed update says "Not connected to the internet". I have a stable internet connection with 220 MBPS speed.

How to update the iOS? I've tried all the suggestions that I could find.

iPhone 11, iOS 15

Hello OldGold61Dougie,

Being able to update iOS is important. It sounds as though you're attempting to update iOS wirelessly and you're presented with the "Not connected to the internet" error message. We also see you came from the article: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't update

If you've completed the steps outlined in the related article, the next step as outlined in the section "Remove and download the update again" is to update via a computer. This is the right next step for completing the update successfully. You can find the steps for updating via Finder on Mac or iTunes on a Mac or PC in the following articles.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with the Finder

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes

Have a great day!

If you are connected through "data plan" does not work. You need wifi from a router that does not depend on your internal hardware.

If not plugged into power, wifi signal can be lost when it does intermediate shutdown during upgrade as it almost always does. Plugged into a wall and the wifi should remain intact.

Also 50%+ power as this will use much battery and you do not want it dying mid-upgrade.

Howdy venus120,

Thanks for following up with this information.

While you may be able to wait to try with a different Wi-Fi network, you may need to use a computer at times to install the update. This could be related to the network speeds, size of the download, as well as other factors so using a computer will help to remove those factors from preventing the update.

If you prefer to use a computer as opposed to waiting, you may be able to locate an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider if a family member or friend doesn't have a computer to use. If you'd like assistance with locating what's nearby, use the following link to select your country and locate service options: Apple - Find Locations - Location Selector

We hope that's able to help.

Have a great day.

I appreciate your suggestion. However I don’t have a Mac computer or iTunes. Maybe if I wait patiently someone in Apple world will fix it so I can download and install iOS updates like I’ve always done in the past?

It is unlikely that “someone in Apple world will fix it so [you] can download and install iOS updates like [you]’ve always done in the past”, since it is working for most other people (including my iPhone 11, as well as my Daughter’s iPhone 11).

However, you are certainly free to do as you wish.

It always fails to install during the automatic update at night. That’s when I have the phone plugged in to charge and there’s not really much else the router would be busy with. I have tried to install the update manually several times. I’ve reset my network settings per a suggestion from the community. I’ve even tried Airplane Mode just for fun. I believe the update downloads OK. It just won’t finish verifying to install.
