Time & Time Zone doesn’t update automatically on newest IPad

Latest iOS, set to “automatic update”, etc. time zones still never automatically updates. This must be a known bug?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.


We understand that you are having issues with your phone not changing time zones automatically. There are a couple of different settings that could be affecting this.


First, go to Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure you have turned on "Set Automatically".


Then go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and make sure it is on.


Scroll down to the bottom to System Services, tap on it, and make sure that "Setting Time Zone" is on.

And finally, go to Settings > Cellular, check that it is On, and also that Clock is on.


And finally, if you are close to the time zone border, if your phone connects or remains connected to a cell tower in the other time zone, your phone will think it is in the same time zone as that tower and show the time for the tower you are connected to.
