Open Source webcams will not play in Safari, Chrome, or Firefox on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, IOS 15.5

Open Source webcams will not play in Safari, Chrome, or Firefox on my iPhone 13 Pro Max with IOS 15.5. This is not a problem on my IPAD 8 with IOS 15.5. I have compared safari settings between the two devices and both are the same.

I have repeatedly deleted cookies and browser history.

Screen time restrictions are not activated.

Privacy settings between the two devices match.

what do I need to do next to solve this annoyance?

Hi MHRiddle,

Not having the issue for the first website on an iPhone running 15.5 here. However, it looks like you've attempted all the recommendations from the support article here: If Safari displays a blank page or quits on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

You can also test in a private browser window. Turn Private Browsing on or off on your iPhone or iPod touch

You can also temporarily disable any extensions Get extensions to customize Safari on iPhone and triple check your privacy settings About privacy and Location Services in iOS and iPadOS - Apple Support

However, reporting the issue to the web developer from the second website and continuing to work with them is the best course of action.

If you have any issues with extensions or your privacy settings moving forward, reach out to Apple Support directly.

Thanks for the response and the situation continues without resolution.

Yes, I have tried the website from multiple networks, with the same results.

Yes, I have contacted one of the web site developer/maintainer. His responses include: the code has not changed in two years. I am an android open source guy, Apple routinely fails to comply with open source protocols.

And, on the IPhone it is not just one webcam that will not play, I have run across numerous ones that will not play on the iPhone that will play on the iPad.

And, i have found that it is not just my iPhone 13 Pro Max, but I have had 3 other iPhone users try the webcams and they all get the same result, no video.

If it's not working with three different apps, there may be an issue with the website.

Below is a screenshot from my iPhone of one of the two sites I am unable to view. The other site does not return an error code as nothing seems to be happening.

Again, both sites work from the two iPads I have access to, and neither site works from the two iPhones that I have available.

it doesn’t seem logical to be a website problem if the websites work on other Apple devices, but not on iPhones with IOS 15.5.
