I'm trying to download Macosx High Sierra on my 2013 imac. The only link i can find through apple to download it keeps saying "this copy of install macos high sierra is damaged and can not be used to download . . " I don't believe my imac 2013 will run macos monetary. I need an upgrade as multiple apps will not run with my current edition of mac os sierra 10.12.6. Suggestions please?

The alert that the installer is damaged may be happening because you already have a copy of the "Install macOS High Sierra" app in your Applications folder.
I suggest you delete that app (and any other copies) from your Applications folder, empty the trash, restart the Mac and attempt the download again.
If you get a corrupted message...
Naw, not damaged, it's just that you have an old copy already in Applications, there are 2 cures...
Disconnect from the Internet & set the Date back to 2014, then you can run the Install MacsOS High Sierra App in Applications, so expired Certificates are not expired.
Or... trash the Install MacsOS High Sierra.app in Applications then a new copy more recent version can be downloaded.
