charging a new MAC PRO IOS Monterey
It takes more than 12 hours (more like 15) for my new MAC to fully charge. Is that normal? the MAC is brand new.

A feature introduced into Big Sur & Monterey was to preserve the number of Full Battery Cycles - there was an Algorithm coded into the macOS.
It is perfectly Normal for Big Sur , Monterey to Pause / Suspend charging the battery beyond 80% and hold it at that level.
One can nudge / over-ride this by clicking the Battery Icon on Desktop Top Bar and allow charging beyond 80%.
From observations, it will Pause / Suspend again once reading 90%.
Same procedure to over-ride and will charge to 100%

If you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on battery only. THis is how you extend the working life of your battery.
You can expect a 1000 cycle count.

If it is mandatory you need 100% you can always from the drop down:
if you do not see the BATT in the menu bar, add it in:
>System Preferences>Battery>Battery

Agree with previous posting- it is not required to keep the Battery @ 100% all the time.
Doing some will shorten the life of the battery.
Like any battery - it does need exercis , running on Battery Power at least 1 or 2 times a month to keep it in good shape.
Thank you so much
You are welcome.
