I cannot view Fuji RAW files in Photos

I uploaded photos from my Fuji XT30 camera, which records (uncompressed) RAW and JPEG. The photos appeared to upload OK, and the thumbnails say "JPEG+RAW". If I select a photo, and then Image/Use RAW as Original, I get the message "Switching RAW/JPEG masters ..." for many minutes ... nothing appears to be happening. I have to Force Quit to close Photos.

There is no problem switching between JPEG and RAW for my Nikon Z7 files, then switch in a second or two.

Any ideas what the problem is? It's really annoying, around 120 photos from a short holiday and I want to adjust the dynamic range on the RAW. I still have the photos in the camera.

Hello chrisgalway1,

A complete list of RAW formats supported can be found in the following article: Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS Monterey - Apple Support

If your format appears but still does not work as expected it may be best to reach out to the camera manufacturer for additional assistance. They may be able to offer guidance on changing format or transferring images.

Regards.

Thanks all, I've "solved" (meaning found a fix to) the problem. My camera had "Sports Finder Mode" enabled ... don't ask my WHY, it must have switched about a month ago. In this mode, I can't see the RAW files in Photos, although the RAW file is there because you can export it.

If Sports Finder Mode is disabled (the normal setting), I can see both the RAW and the JPEG in Photos.

The Fuji camera manual does not mention any of this.

Anyway, thanks to all for responding.

Chris
