Mail stuck in Outbox when sending via iPhone Photo app

When trying to send a photo to an email address from the iPhone Photos app the mail gets stuck in the Outbox. iOS 15.5 with iPhone SE (Legacy). AOL is default mail. If I click on the mail in the Outbox I can send it fine. And I can send photos directly from AOL itself. I can text photos from the Photos app.

UPDATE: I was testing, trying different things before sending this. I deleted my AOL account & reestablished to no avail. What appeared to work was changing the default mail to Gmail & then back again to AOL. Anyhow, it's working & that's as close to an answer as I can get.

Yes you might have resolved your issue but I would like to tell a few solutions anyways,

If you are sending multible images or the file size is too big, you may have troubles.

My solution would be to convert the images to a PDF.

Thanks for your response. I specifically asked that the pictures be 'small' & I was only sending one at a time so I don't think that was the issue. But, again, I appreciate the response. Fingers crossed that it keeps working. (It's my wife's phone & I have gone up a few points (much needed) in her eyes!)
